Thank you for doing all that you said you could in terms of helping us set up the website. We have had nothing but positive comments about how good it is & we are less than a week in action!

Each month AtHomeNet chooses a special community from the AtHomeNet family to spotlight. Often communities are chosen by our Support Team for a unique way they're using an AtHomeNet Feature or because of the quality of content they added to the site. We've found that in order for a web site to be successful, content is king. The best way to explain this is to show you so visit this month's community in the web site to learn a little about the association, a little about the web site admin and explore the public area of their site.
This Month's Spotlight Community is:
Whitewater Creek - A Private Gated Golf Course Community
This month's community is a Gated Golf course community in Fayetteville, GA; Whitewater Creek. Dave Simmons has been the president of the Whitewater Creek Community Association since 2007. He has served on the Board in various capacities for more than eight years, including a stint as Vice President.
Whitewater is a gated golf community, which features a beautiful privately owned golf course in the heart of the neighborhood. The bustling community is in unincorporated Fayette county, Georgia, and has about 1000 residents spread across 347 lots. The community has been around since 1985, and approximately 70% or more of the residents use the website regularly. Some of the most popular features that enjoy the most usage are the tennis courts, community message board, email bulletins, and the address book/home directory.
Simmons highlighted the fact that the community had recently built a new amenities center, and that the website reservations feature got a lot of mileage. "The posting of Homeowners Association Meeting minutes, financial reporting, and committee assignments are also extremely helpful to the Board," added Simmons. One of the most impressive things about how Whitewater Creek uses their websites, is the way they utilize selling advertising on their website to bring revenue into the community.
Dave reflected on the fact that a few years back, the community went through a period of time when they were not a gated community. He experienced during that time, an endless stream of door to door solicitations for everything from pizza delivery companies and laundry services passing out coupons, to various local businesses trying to gain business from Whitewater's residents.
With several Board members owning their own businesses or being very business minded, the opportunity was clear. If only a percentage of these door to door salesmen were presented with an opportunity to market directly to the residents through the website, Whitewater Creek could bring in a consistent revenue stream. Simmons stated that the Board of Whitewater is very practical, and they view their association as a corporation as well as a community organization. With the average ad going for around $25 dollars or less, attracting businesses became a standard part of Whitewater's marketing committee agenda. In addition, since many of Whitewater's residents are business owners, the Board is now working on a special Business Directory where the residents can get a discounted rate on the various services Whitewater's business owner/residents provide.
In the future, Simmons says that Whitewater has even bigger plans, including using video marketing on their website to attract home buyers as well as continuing and expanding their advertising portfolio to even more local businesses. AtHomeNet proudly recognizes Fayette county Georgia's Whitewater Creek as our March 2009 Community in the Spotlight.
